Rocket League Cash Cups

Epic Games (game publisher of Rocket League) partnered with Repeat.gg to host their seasonal Cash Cup tournaments. This was a significant undertaking from Repeat, as it meant creating promotional assets that required an approval process set out by the game publisher. James was tasked with leading the social and content planning for Repeat, including some promotional pieces that would be pushed through Epic Games own social channels, as well as a promotional ad that would premiere at the Rocket League World Championships Paris Major.

The results spoke for themselves. Previous player engagement records were broken, six-figure signups were onboarded to the platform in under a month, and over 17,000 players competed in a single leaderboard across Platinum–Diamond 2v2s. More than 30,000 users were paid out in prizes — with 40% of all participants receiving a reward, driving deeper engagement and stronger completion rates across every region. And that was just the first weekend. The Cash Cups ran for a total of 10 weeks until the start of June 2026.

Beyond the numbers, the format proved something important: that inclusive, well-designed competition creates better outcomes for everyone. Participation was strong across all regions, the player experience was smoother, and in-game advertising proved highly effective for both acquisition and ongoing engagement. Most notably — the entire operation ran fully automated, setting a new benchmark for scalable tournament delivery on the platform.
